University of WA Law Awards

Stephen Williams, Managing Partner, had the honour of presenting two awards at UWA's Faculty of Law Award Ceremony held on 7 May. Stephen presented the prizes to Jessica Lee and Peixin Truong, winners of the Kott Gunning Environmental Law prize and the Australian Insurance Law Association Insurance (AILA) Law prize, respectively . Kott Gunning is pleased to be strengthening its association with UWA and the other Western Australian universities to promote excellence in legal learning. Our congratulations once again to the worthy winners.

World’s Greatest Shave

In support of the Leukaemia Foundation's yearly charity event, Kott Gunning participated in the 2013 World’s Greatest Shave to help raise money for a worthy cause.  We had 7 brave staff members shaving their heads and 15 others colouring their hair which resulted in a very colourful office for the day and an impressive sum being raised for donation.  Thankyou to everyone in the firm and others from outside of Kott Gunning for your generous donations.

Local Government Seminar Lunch

Local Government guests from around Perth were treated to good food and breathtaking views at the Kott Gunning hosted seminar lunch on Friday 1st February at Frasers State Reception Centre in Kings Park.

The seminar lunch featured talks of interest to Local Governments, namely, the Preparation of Direction Notices, Unfair Contract Terms and Pitfalls of the Building Act.  As always the food was delicious and our guests were entertained by the chef’s demonstration of ‘Frasers Mess’ which everyone thoroughly enjoyed for dessert.
