Kott Gunning’s Commitment To The Future Continues

Kott Gunning is delighted to announce that two new articled clerks have joined our team in February 2007. This brings the total number of articled clerks currently at Kott Gunning to four, with one due to be admitted in April 2007.

Articled Clerks are lawyers in the making, having graduated with a law degree a future lawyer spends a year as an “apprentice lawyer” before being admitted as a Restricted Practitioner. Restricted Practitioners are lawyers who must work under the supervision of an experienced lawyer.

The Articled Clerk year is regarded by many lawyers as the most important year of their legal career as it provides the opportunity to learn the practicalities of providing great legal services under the guidance of experienced lawyers.

The Articled Clerks also provide services for clients at lower rates than admitted lawyers, enabling lengthy research tasks to be undertaken at reduced costs to the clients.

Articled Clerks at Kott Gunning either are rotated through the firm’s various legal sections or receive work from many sections, so that when they are admitted as lawyers they have a diverse range of legal skills.
