Kott Gunning Sponsors 2008 Olympic Contestants

In an endeavour to show our support for Australia’s preparation for the Olympics, Kott Gunning has agreed to sponsor two elite West Australian hockey players, Grant Schubert and Kate Hollywood. Both will be in serious contention for selection in the Australian hockey teams at the Olympics.

Grant Schubert came to the attention of the National selectors with a series of outstanding performances for Australia A in an international tournament held in Perth 2003. He has been a regular member of the Australian squad since that time.

He represented Australia in the 2004 Olympics winning a gold medal. He has now played 119 games for Australia and has scored 57 international goals.

Grant has been included in the Olympic Squad of 24 despite suffering a knee injury at the National Hockey league .The final team of 16 will be selected in July this year.

Kate Hollywood was first selected to represent New South Wales in the National Hockey League 2005 and represented Australia in the Junior World Cup in 2005 held in Santiago, Chile.

She was first selected to represent the National team in 2005.

In 2007, she moved to Perth when she was awarded an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship.

Since 2004, she has been studying at the Australian College of Physical Education doing a Bachelor of Personal Development, Health and Physical Education as a part time student.

As she is now in full time training for the 2008 Olympics her university course is on hold.

These two outstanding young Australians are making enormous personal and financial sacrifices in the hope of being selected to represent Australia in the world’s greatest sporting competition. From January this year when Grant and Kate will both be in full time training, however, they will be appearing at speaking and promotional events on behalf of Kott Gunning as well as clients and friends of the firm.
