Kott Gunning Gains Accreditation As A Qa Provider

On 21 August 2008, Kott Gunning received confirmation from the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia that their Application for status as an accredited QA Provider had been successful.

Gaining accreditation as a QA Provider enables Kott Gunning to provide continuing professional development activities to legal practitioners in a variety of topics.

The Legal Profession Bill 2007 contains a provision requiring all certified practitioners to undertake a program of continuing professional development in accordance with the Policy of the Legal Practice Board.

The Legal Practice Board’s Policy states:

“To comply with this Policy, each certificated practitioner and each Government Lawyer must earn a minimum of 10 CPD Points in each CPD Period, across the three Competency Areas…”

The three competency areas are legal skills and practice, values, and legal knowledge.

Kott Gunning intends to provide training seminars on all three of the competency areas to external legal practitioners. Details of our future continuing professional development activities will shortly be provided on our website.
