Kott Gunning is delighted to announce that Halga James (formerly Legal Officer at the Shire of Busselton) has recently joined our Local Government and Property teams.

Halga’s main areas of practice are:

  • All aspects of general property law;
  • Retail and commercial leasing;
  • Commercial contracts;
  • Strata titles;
  • Property development including tourist resorts and managed investment schemes; and
  • Local government law and planning.

    • Whilst Halga was employed as the Legal Officer with the Shire of Busselton, she was involved in a number of major projects including the proposed redevelopment of the iconic Busselton Jetty. Halga also advised the Shire of Busselton on all aspects of strata titled tourism, general property and commercial law matters and numerous planning matters.

    Halga has a further 7 years experience in private legal practice working predominantly in the areas of property development, strata titles, tourist resorts, leasing and commercial contracts.

    In addition, Halga has lectured in property law at the Articles Training Program operated by the Law Society of WA and has been a tutor at Murdoch University.
