Kott Gunning Promotes Four Young Lawyers

Kott Gunning is delighted to announce four promotions across three practice groups effective from 1 July 2017, representing the next generation of leadership and capability at the firm.

The Insurance and Risk team has been boosted by the promotion of two lawyers, Ken Grunder to Senior Associate and Daniel Coster to Associate. Claire Hawke-Gundill has been promoted to Senior Associate in the Commercial team and Conor Breheny to Associate in our Commercial Dispute Resolution team.

Ken Grunder joined the firm in November 2013 and practises predominantly in insurance and risk for insurers, self-insurers, corporations and other commercial entities in a variety of industries. Away from the office Ken enjoys sports including golf, cycling, snowboarding and competing in triathlons.

Daniel Coster joined the firm in January 2017.  He has a range of experience in insurance claims litigation with a practice that includes workers’ compensation claims for insurer clients, asbestos litigation, and CTP motor vehicle claims. Daniel is also a keen writer, regularly publishing articles on legal developments.

Claire Hawke-Gundill joined the firm as a graduate in March 2011 and was promoted to Associate in July 2015.  She is an integral part of the firm’s Commercial team, practicing in the areas of property, commercial and wills, estates and trusts. Claire regularly presents estate planning workshops in workplaces, which are popular with financial planning, accounting and advisory firms wanting to offer educative sessions to their clients.

Conor Breheny joined Kott Gunning’s Commercial Dispute Resolution team in November last year, quickly establishing himself as a key member of the team with a focus on general contractual disputes, and both personal and corporate insolvency. He also assists our compliance practice in the preparation of planning and regulatory prosecutions, and appears regularly in Court to prosecute those matters. Away from the office, Conor is a keen hockey player and was once employed as a full time musician with the WA Police Pipe Band.

Kott Gunning’s Chairman, Vidal Hockless, said “we are delighted to see the advancement of Claire, Ken, Daniel and Conor.  All are very capable lawyers and great ambassadors for the firm, who take our values seriously”.
