Ashley Crisp

Ashley joined Kott Gunning in 2010 and is a partner in the insurance practice group.

He was admitted as a legal practitioner in 1984. From 1987 to 1992 he was the insurance partner at a medium size Perth law firm. In April 1992 he founded the firm which is now known as CCS Insurance Law to focus on his area of interest – insurance law advice, dispute resolution and litigation.

Ashley’s experience in insurance law spans 25 years and includes employers indemnity and workers compensation, public and product liability, professional indemnity, property, construction, engineering, contract works and treatment liability.

He has worked with numerous national and international insurers, self insurers, brokers and their clients and has provided advice not only in relation to claims and litigation but also in relation to policy development, WA workers compensation scheme issues, underwriting, state and national projects, proposed legislative change and the many other issues which have confronted insurers and self insurers over the last 25 years.

His insurance law career has involved acting for clients operating in the construction, mining, oil and gas, retail, industrial, health care, hospitality, manufacturing, professional services, state government and local government sectors.

In 2009 Ashley worked on WorkCoverWA’s legislative review of the WA Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management Act. The legislative review was announced by the Minister for Commerce in late March 2009 with a completion date set for December 2009.
