Date: Monday, 5 December 2016
Time: 12:00pm – 2:00pm
Venue: Novotel Perth Langley, Perth
At the December Women in Governance luncheon, Anne Wood, Partner, Kott Gunning Lawyers, will be raising the question: “Surely we already have gender equality in the workforce? Governance strategies for making sure we do.”
Anne will share her key thoughts and insights, with areas of discussion including the below:
In 2014 the Women Lawyers of WA (WLWA) released the 20th Anniversary Review of the 1994 Chief Justice’s Gender Bias Taskforce Report. This significant report took three years to complete and deals with the interaction of women with the law, as victims, offenders, lawyers and as people who are governed by laws in WA. There are 197 recommendations stemming from this report.
As a member of the steering committee of the Report and current WLWA President, Anne will provide an eye opening insight into the legal sector and the sometimes invisible impact some of its practices have on gender equity. The lunch will also focus on current research into whether these issues also arise in other workplaces.
Over the course of the year, Governance Institute invites successful and prominent women in governance to share their personal/professional stories and facilitate stimulating discussion.
These intimate boardroom style luncheons are an opportunity for you to be inspired, share experiences, openly discuss issues/challenges and to engage in effective networking to create strong business connections.
